Equipment

  • baking sheet or stone
  • large bowl

Ingredients
  

  • 1 pkg dry yeast 2 1/4 tsp
  • 1 1/4 c warm water
  • 1 T sugar
  • 2 3/4 c flour
  • 1 1/2 tsp salt

Instructions
 

  • Dissolve yeast in warm water, add sugar and set aside for 10 minutes or until yeast is foamy
  • Mix salt and up to 2 c flour in bowl, then add to yeast mixture.
  • Add the rest of the flour and knead for 5-10 minutes, until bread feels elastic but not sticky
    Kneading bread dough
  • Coat a large bowl with olive oil spray and place ball of dough in bowl, cover with plastic wrap or clean towel and place in a warm area to rise for about 1 hour-1.5 hour. Dough should double in size.
  • Shape into loaf or loaves and place on greased baking sheet or stone. Slash across the top with a sharp knife.

  • Bake at 375 for about 20 minutes, or until top is a golden color.
  • Remove from oven and cool. Slice and enjoy!
